Memorial Park Beach

Seasonal car pass pricing (2026 season): Resident Adult $96, Resident Reduced (62+/veteran/handicap) $54, Resident Companion $135, Non-Resident Adult $192, Non-Resident Reduced $108, Purple Heart free. Walk-in passes are also available. Beach operates roughly June 20 through mid/late August.

One visitor describes the water near shore as very shallow, good for small children, and the beach is lifeguarded during the June 20-Aug 16 season with a roped buoy line separating lap swimmers. However, the lake has a documented history of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms that have triggered closures or advisories (including a full two-week lake closure in July 2021 and a bloom specifically sampled at Memorial Beach in Oct 2022), so it's worth checking the town's current water-quality/algae advisory before a visit with kids.

No significant hike is required. The swimming area is close to parking and access.

The lake supports a yacht club and is described by the town as used for boating, sailing, and windsurfing alongside swimming. Kayak, canoe, and paddleboard use specifically was not addressed in any official source found -- non-motorized small craft are plausible given general sailing/windsurfing activity, but this could not be confirmed, so they are left out of the allowed list.

Official beach season with lifeguards runs from about June 20 to mid/late August (hours 9:30am-6:00pm daily). The lake advisory committee notes cyanobacteria blooms are more likely in hot weather following heavy rain, historically peaking in July-October.

Governed by the Town of Sharon's beach bylaw: Veterans' Memorial Park Beach is open only to Sharon residents and their guests (Community Center Beach across the lake is open to the general public); admission requires a Recreation Department permit; swimmers must stay within marked swim areas; no inflatables, rafts, tubes, or most flotation/snorkel/dive gear; PFDs for children under 12 must be non-inflatable USCG Type I/II/III; no glass containers, alcohol, or smoking/vaping; dogs prohibited on the beach and walkways April 15-October 15; no fishing from docks or shoreline; boats/motor vessels barred within 150 feet of the marked swim area and must not exceed 6 mph within 150 feet of shore; jet skis and racing-type craft are banned lakewide.

Memorial Park Beach is on Massapoag Lake, a natural lake verified in USGS hydrography data.
