Parking: A dedicated parking area serves the main day-use/swimming facilities, with a separate parking area for the campground reached via a different road.

No real hike here. The water is a short walk from where you park. No trail hike is needed to reach the swimming area itself. Note: the separate Juniper Creek Nature Trail (a ~1.4-mile boardwalk loop to Fern Hammock Springs) starts nearby but is a bonus nature walk, not required for swimming, and floridahikes.com reported it closed for renovation as of Jan 2024 (current status unconfirmed).

📜Backstory

The recreation area was established in 1908 and is considered one of the oldest and best-known recreation sites in Florida. In the 1930s the Civilian Conservation Corps built the mill house with a waterwheel that historically generated electricity for the site, along with other infrastructure still present today.
