Nine Mile Recreation Area

A Discover Pass is required ($45 annual or $10 daily); watercraft launch fee is $7/day; overnight unattended vehicle fee is $10/night; trailer dump fee is $5/use.

There is an official designated swimming area, but Nine Mile Recreation Area is described by WA State Parks as 'a busy hub for water activities' with a boat launch and two docks accommodating both motorized and non-motorized watercraft right at the same site, so boat traffic operates on the open lake near the swim zone. No lifeguard staffing, water depth, or bottom-type information was found in official sources, so families should supervise closely rather than assume a gentle, fully enclosed kids' beach.

No significant hike is required. The swimming area is close to parking and access.

The park page describes dedicated parking for water access at the recreation area alongside the boat launch and docks; no capacity or overflow information was found.

The official Riverside State Park page states the recreation area has 'two docks and a boat launch that can accommodate both motorized and non-motorized watercraft.' No no-wake zone, electric-only rule, or other watercraft restriction specific to Nine Mile was found in sourced material (the park's general hazard language about the Spokane River requiring whitewater experience appears aimed at river sections elsewhere in the park, not this reservoir launch).

Summer, when park hours run 6:30 a.m. to dusk and the boat launch is open (April 1-October 31); winter hours are 8:00 a.m. to dusk.
