📜Backstory

The park honors Clark Lambros Jr., son of Greek immigrant and Marquette businessman Clark Lambros (founder of Vango's Pizza and Cocktail Lounge), who died in a car accident. The elder Lambros envisioned the park but died before it was built; his partner Michele Butler donated the land and secured a Michigan DNR Trust Fund grant, combined with her own funds, to complete it. The park opened in August 2016 and is maintained in perpetuity through an endowment at the Community Foundation of Marquette County.
