Whitebreast Beach

Beach entry is free; the adjacent Whitebreast campground and picnic shelters require paid reservations (through Recreation.gov or the National Recreation Reservation Service), with unreserved shelters available first-come, first-served at no charge.

Shallow entry with a gentle slope is naturally suited to kids, but the lake bottom is soft and can be slimy or clay/rock depending on water level (one visitor reported nearly slipping on clay mud near shore during low water), so water shoes are recommended. No lifeguard presence is mentioned in any source, so adult supervision is advised.

No significant hike is required. The swimming area is close to parking and access.

Beach season runs roughly Memorial Day weekend through early fall (campground/recreation area open April through October); water levels and beach access can shift with dam operations and heavy rainfall.

Beach typically closes if Lake Red Rock's elevation reaches or exceeds 765 feet due to dam operations; pets are generally not permitted on the designated swim beach; posted beach hours are weekdays 3-7 PM and weekends 9-11 AM and 3-7 PM (seasonal, roughly Memorial Day through the beach season).
