NORTH SHORE PICNIC AREA

Recreation.gov describes a designated swim beach directly at the picnic area, family-oriented and easy to reach from parking, but there is no mention of on-duty lifeguards, and Sandy Beach Boat Ramp/motorized boat traffic is within about 1/4 mile, plus a marina renting motorboats and pontoons operates nearby on the same lake. Shallow sandy entry makes it workable for kids with an adult watching, but it is not a supervised or fully enclosed swim area.

No significant hike is required. The swimming area is close to parking and access.

Recreation.gov states parking is limited at the picnic area and asks visitors to carpool and arrive with as few vehicles as possible; no day-use fee amount was found in the sources checked.

Recreation.gov notes lake recreation at this site includes water skiing, boating, kayaking and fishing (rainbow trout, kokanee salmon), with Sandy Beach Boat Ramp within about 1/4 mile of the picnic area. Redfish Lake Marina, in front of Redfish Lake Lodge, also runs a hiker boat shuttle between the North Shore and South Shore (dropping at the Redfish Inlet Trailhead).

Day-use only; no overnight camping. Firewood must be purchased and burned locally to prevent spread of pests. Opening and closing dates are weather permitting (contact Ketchum Ranger District, 208-622-8021, for current status per the Forest Service recreation page; a separate 928-537-8888 number was listed on the Recreation.gov page for site-specific inquiries).

NORTH SHORE PICNIC AREA is on Redfish Lake Creek, a natural lake verified in USGS hydrography data.
